This course covers the installation and termination of coaxial cabling in the customer premises environment.
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge to install, terminate and certify structured cabling.
By completing these courses, learners will gain the necessary specialist competency (previously known as endorsement) to undertake coaxial cabling and structured cabling work. The Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) new cabling provider rules require technicians undertaking coaxial cabling and structured cabling work to complete this competency.
Although there are no prerequisite requirements to achieve this unit of competency, it is recommended that learners complete the Open Cabler Registration course. Learners with an Open Cabler Registration qualify to receive the coaxial and structured cabling specialist competency (endorsement).
