Course Pathway and Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to apply for accreditation through Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA). Full details regarding accreditation requirements can be found on the Solar Accreditation Australia website.

This course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to meet the training component of Solar Accreditation Australia's Grid-Connected Battery Storage (GCBS) Design and Installation requirements. It enables participants to:

  • Safely conduct site surveys and develop comprehensive site survey documentation.

  • Design compliant, high-performance battery storage and power conversion equipment (PCE) systems.

  • Install, test and commission battery storage and PCE systems in accordance with regulatory standards.

  • Operate, maintain, and conduct fault-finding on battery energy storage systems.

Prerequisites

Participants must hold a current unrestricted electrical licence (Electrician). This course builds on the knowledge of the Grid-Connected PV Systems Design and Install course, so a prerequisite for enrolment is a Statement of Attainment in the following Unit of Competency:

  • UEERE0061: Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems`

If a student does not have a Statement of Attainment in UEERE0061 please contact our office to discuss your options.

Participants should also have basic computer literacy and access to a device for the online/blended components.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)
