How do I become an electrician?
To become a licensed electrician, you have to successfully undertake an electrical apprenticeship. As an apprentice, you will learn to install and maintain electrical components, wiring, equipment and systems.
To gain the necessary competencies, you may be rotated between industry employers and will be expected to travel between work sites.
Once qualified, licensed electricians can expand their skills for specialised areas of the electrical industry, including but not limited to:
- home automation
- C-BUS and TEBIS systems that control lighting, security, home theatres
- air conditioning
- residential, commercial and industrial applications.
