Electrical Contractors Licence Queensland Training Course for Qualified Business Person (QBP) and Qualified Technical Person (QTP)

Fee is calculated through a Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funded subsidy of $2255. Conditions apply to eligible applicants. Go to csq.org.au/courses for more information on eligibility requirements 

**Please note that there is a re-booking fee of $200. This includes any students who cannot complete the face-to-face training due to incomplete pre-work. As an addition, if you don't attend training on the day and have not notified Electro Group Training of your absence, you will forfeit your full fee.

The full fee course cost if you are NOT Eligible for CSQ Funding initiative is $3330. 

Course specific refund policy

This course has an amount of pre-attendance work that must be completed prior to your attendance for face-to-face training. The contractor’s course refund policy reflects the administration and other costs to EGT in administering the pre-attendance component if a student chooses to cancel their contractor’s course enrolment. Notice of cancellation of enrolment is taken to occur on receipt of written notice to that effect emailed to training [at] electrogroup.com.au

The following scenarios provide guidance on how EGT will manage student cancellations and refunds for the contractor’s course:

Student cancels their contractor’s course enrolment with more than three (3) calendar months written notice to EGT.

EGT will issue a full refund

Student cancels their contractor’s course enrolment with less than three (3) calendar months written notice to EGT, but greater than ten (10) business days’ notice.

EGT will either:

  1. issue a refund equal to 50% of the total pre-paid fees; or,
  2. transfer an amount equal to 100% of the total pre-paid fees toward an alternative EGT course.

Should the student wish to rebook into the contractor’s course, EGT will charge the student a $200 rebooking fee in addition to the enrolment fees current at that time.

Student cancels their contractor’s course enrolment with less than ten (10), but greater than two (2) business days written notice to EGT.

EGT will transfer the amount equal to 100% of the total pre-paid fees toward an alternative EGT course.

Should the student wish to rebook into the contractor’s course, EGT will charge the student a $200 rebooking fee in addition to the enrolment fees current at that time.

Student cancels their contractor’s course enrolment with less than two (2) business days written notice to EGT or fails to attend scheduled training.

Student forfeits all pre-paid fees for this course.

Should the student wish to rebook into the contractor’s course, EGT will charge the student a $200 rebooking fee in addition to the enrolment fees current at that time.

Student attends one or more days of face-to-face training without having completed the pre-attendance work for that day.

Student will not be permitted to participate in that day’s class. Student will be required to re-enroll for that day’s training and pay the enrolment fee for the applicable unit/s of competency for the day/s missed.

 

Note:

EGT reserve the right to take enrolments into the contractor’s course at any time prior to commencement of face-to-face training. By enrolling in the contractor’s course, the student acknowledges that they have read and understood the refund arrangements. Additionally, the student confirms that they have read EGT’s published contractor’s course information including requirements for completion of prework prior to attendance at face-to-face training and approximate workload. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the amount of time between enrolment and the first face-to-face training day is sufficient for them to complete their prework regardless of work or other commitments.

About this course

This course provides the requirements for people who are applying for an electrical contractor’s licence from the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) to become a Qualified Business Person (QBP) and Qualified Technical Person (QTP).

In order to apply for a Queensland Electrical Safety Office (ESO) Electrical Contractors Licence, you will need to meet the Qualified Business Person (QBP) and Qualified Technical Person (QTP) requirement and have completed the following units:

  • UEECD0007 Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace, and
  • UEEEL0040 Develop compliance policies and plans to conduct a electrical contracting business, and
  • BSBESB402 Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures, and
  • UEEEL0002 Apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations (must have completed this unit within the last three years), and
  • UEEEL0029 Conduct compliance inspection of single phase electrical installations , and
  • UEEEL0030 Conduct compliance inspection of LV electrical installations with demand exceeding 100 A per phase.

If you have five (5) years or more of business experience, you may not have to complete BSBESB402 Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures.

If you have completed a Cert III in Electrotechnology in the UEE11 training package you should already hold the unit UEENEEE101A  and will not need to complete again. This unit is superseded and equivalent to UEECD0007

    • Code of Practice How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks 2011

 

 

Prerequisites

  • UEENEEE101A (superseded and equivalent to UEECD0007) - Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace pre-requisite is required or if unable to supply certificate for this unit must be completed to meet electrical contractors licensing requirements for Qualified Business Person (QBP) if needed, this unit is also a listed pre- requisite for other units in the course.
  • Students will also require evidence of current CPR/LVR training.
  • Students will need to complete pre-reading and assignments for these units before course commencement. Please see below unit list for more details.
  •  UEEEL0002 has a significant amount of verification testing involved and it is recommended you complete the Testing & Fault Finding Refresher prior to this unit.
